DESCRIPTION: The high security general office renovation occupying 4 ½ floors of the Victoria Building, accommodates new Senate Committee Rooms and offices, as well as upgrades to senate security offices, fitness facilities, cafeteria and associated support spaces. The new committee rooms were designed for television broadcasting complete with translation facilities, public galleries, control centres, & custom-designed committee tables with fully integrated multi-media capabilities. Base building upgrades to structure, as well as an overhaul of mechanical & electrical systems were carried out in order to accommodate the sophisticated multi-media installations, and increased occupant load requirements.
