Nitrate Film Preservation Facility

DESCRIPTION: Schoeler & Heaton provided full consulting services for a feasibility study, design and construction of a facility to store cellulose nitrate film for Library and Archives Canada. The design included storage vaults with stringent temperature and humidity controls with a constant temperature of 2°C. Sustainability concerns were integral to the option design, including a green roof and site landscaping using indigenous planting and grasses.
