DESCRIPTION: Schoeler & Heaton provided full design services for repairs to the Student Centre building at Carleton University. The repairs were necessary due to building envelope failure caused by poor detailing of this building (circa 1970). The scope of work involved removing extensive areas of masonry, repairing the substructure, installing membranes, and reinstalling the masonry. Work also included reconstruction of two exterior balconies, two exterior stairways, repairs to sloped glazing, and replacement of interior doors.
Phase II expanded the cafeteria. The scope of work involved the complete deconstruction and reconstruction of one exterior wall.
